Entries into the 2016 edition of the Etisalat Photography Competition will close on September 11, 2016, according to a release from the organisers.
The competition which precedes the LagosPhoto Festival has its theme as ‘Performance’, with ‘daily routines’ and ‘celebratory’ as sub categories.
The Etisalat Photography Competition kicks off series of activities leading to the opening of the 7th edition of the Etisalat-sponsored annual LagosPhoto Festival; an international arts festival of photography which features exhibitions, workshops, artist presentations, discussions, screenings, and large scale outdoor installations in public spaces in Lagos.
To enter for this year’s competition, participants are required to visit photo.etisalat.com.ng to register and submit entries for both Daily routines and Celebratory.
According to the Director, Brands & Experience, Etisalat Nigeria, Elvis Ogiemwanye, the Etisalat Photography Competition uses the power of photography to create compelling stories that encapsulate individual experiences and identities from across Africa.
“We wish to explore the strength of photography in depicting our daily routines and celebratory activities and expressions under the categories ‘daily routines’ and ‘celebratory’. We believe that the competition serves as a platform to foster creative expressions that celebrate our rich heritage and diversity”, he noted.
The first prize winner in the competition will receive a Canon Camera; the second prize winner will get an iPhone, while the third prize winner will receive a Samsung smartphone. The shortlisted photographers will also be enrolled at LagosPhoto Summer School where they are expected to sharpen their skills.
