VDT Communications, a foremost broadband service provider in Nigeria has noted that its partnership with Digital Africa is part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) to telecom consumers.
The company, which sponsored the Digital Africa Conference and Exhibition, 2018 as the Official Telecom Partner which held in Abuja, Nigeria, has been sponsoring this conference since inception for six years now. However, the year 2018 marks the 3rd year that VDT has sponsored the international technology event as the Official Telecom Partner.
Speaking on behalf of VDT, Marketing Communications Manager, David Ese noted: “VDT Communications Limited, an ISO 9001:2015 and the 1st ISO 20000:2011 internationally certified telecom company in Nigeria for excellent IT service management is increasingly playing a unique role in a number of other sponsorship activities as part of her efforts at giving back to the society and promoting the industry as a whole.”
Digital Africa Conference and Exhibition 2018 which held in Abuja, had the theme, “Africa’s Tech Renaissance”, and was aimed at focusing attention on the great achievements in science and technology by ancient Africa, inspiring technology transformation among current players and charting the course for future technology ecosystem in Africa. VDT Communications’ six-year run with Digital Africa Conference and Exhibition is owing to the desired ideal of the conference with the ultimate aim of inspiring the digital transformation of Africa. This year’s conference, like the previous ones, featured over 36 international speakers and about 1000 participants from Nigeria, other African countries and other parts of the world.
As the Official Telecom Partner of Digital Africa, 2018, in addition to the sponsorship, VDT provided free Wifi for use by all the participants at the conference, thereby demonstrating the premium quality of its services. The participants at the event applauded the high quality of VDT’s internet service. This attracted a lot of visitors to VDT’s stand. VDT Communications also exhibited both the traditional and newly developed services including, Digital Leased Circuit, Corporate Internet, Metro Wireless, Metro Fiber, ATM Solutions, Wi-Fi Hotspot and 4G LTE Advanced Retail Internet service. The Mister of Communications Barr. Adebayo Shittu visited VDT stand during the event and was very impressed by the quality and array of VDT service offerings.
The company is a traditional sponsor of International Girls in ICT Day, Nigeria; IPV6 Workshop and God’s Children Great Talent among several others. Moreover, VDT operates a Modular Trainee Engineering Program since 2014 through which it trains engineering graduates annually, free of charge to increase their employability in the industry. VDT provides allowances to these graduates during the training program and offers some of the employment at the end of the program. VDT Communications also collaborates with Universal Service Provision Fund [USPF] to establish and operates 4 cyber café’s with high-speed robust internet service in the remote/underserved locations in Ijebu Ode- Ogun State, Oyo-Oyo State, Asaba-Delta State and Okefia, Osogbo-Osun State.
