ALX Nigeria, top tech career accelerator, has announced strategic partnerships with the Nigerian Bar Association Institute of Continuing Legal Education, the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) and financial broker, HFM, at a media conference held in Lagos recently.
These collaborations mark a significant milestone in bridging the gap between professionals in the legal, finance and tech industries, as well as fostering job creation and economic growth in Nigeria.
Through these partnerships, ALX will provide specialised tech training programmes to members of the Nigerian Bar Association nationwide, and all residents of Lagos State and beneficiaries of the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund. The programmes will equip participants with in-demand skills in areas such as software development, data science, and Artificial Intelligence Career Essentials (AiCE), empowering them to thrive in the rapidly evolving digital economy.
At the media event, Country General Manager, ALX Nigeria, Ruby Igwe, expressed her enthusiasm for the partnerships, stating: “We are excited to collaborate with the Nigerian Bar Association Institute of Continuing Legal Education and the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund to unlock new opportunities for individuals looking to transition into high-growth tech careers. The Institute of Continuing Legal Education welcomed the partnership as a strategic move to enhance the competitiveness of its members in an increasingly technology-driven world. Speaking on the partnership, a member of the National Executive Committee, Nigerian Bar Association, Tobenna Erijokwe, Esq., said: “The legal profession is evolving, and it is crucial for our members to adapt to the demands of the digital age. Through this partnership with ALX, we are equipping our members with the necessary skills to navigate emerging legal tech trends and remain at the forefront of innovation in the legal industry.”
Similarly, the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) sees the collaboration as a catalyst for fostering entrepreneurship and creating employment opportunities for Lagosians.
In her position, Funding & Partnerships Officer, LSETF, Ufuoma Emonena, represented the Director of Partnerships, LSETF stated the Fund’s commitment towards such projects: “At LSETF, we are committed to supporting initiatives that promote skill acquisition and entrepreneurship development. Partnering with ALX will enable us to upskill our beneficiaries and prepare them for the vast opportunities available in the tech sector, ultimately contributing to the economic prosperity of Lagos State.”
The tech training programmes under these partnerships will commence in the coming months, with a focus on delivering practical, hands-on learning experiences tailored to the specific needs of participants. ALX also features a vibrant community of fellows under the ALX Fellowship and their ALX Ventures community provides support for entrepreneurs.
