The National Commissioner/CEO of the Nigeria Data Protection Commission, Dr. Vincent Olatunji has been honoured with the Federal Public Sector CEO eGovernment Award at the Nigeria eGovernment Awards 2026 held in Lagos last Thursday. The award was presented by the Deputy Governor of Edo State, Hon Dennis Idahosa, during the flagship ceremony of the Nigeria eGovernment Summit.
The NDPC also received the “Data Governance Excellence Award” at the same event. The awards ceremony featured 17 competitive categories recognising outstanding achievements across both public and private sector organisations for innovation, leadership, and impact in driving Nigeria’s digital transformation and eGovernment agenda forward.
Dr. Olatunji delivered a goodwill message at the event where he commended the organisers for their consistency and encouraged the winners in each category to prepare for more work. He encouraged the attendees, consisting of key stakeholders in the digital ecosystem, to further collaborate with themselves to develop and promote useful innovations, while ensuring compliance with data protection and privacy obligations to build a trustworthy digital economy.
Dr. Olatunji also presented awards to winners in several categories at the event.
