Dame Umeoji was appointed the GMD/GCEO of Zenith Bank in June 2024, becoming the first woman to hold the position in the bank, and she hit the ground running. Two years after her appointment, her story resonates with success.
Before she was appointed GMD/CEO, Umeoji served as the Deputy Managing Director of Zenith Bank PLC from October 28, 2016, until May 31, 2024. On October 9, 2012, Umeoji was appointed to the Board of Zenith Bank, further solidifying her position as a key leader within the organisation. As a board member, she contributes valuable insights and expertise, helping to shape the Bank’s strategic direction and drive sustainable growth.

From N36.50 in August 2024, Dame Umeoji grew the Zenith Bank share price to over N130 per share in January 2026. Leading the Public Offer in 2024, the bank had an over-subscription of more than 160%.

Aside from growing the company’s finances and expanding into new markets, Dame Adaora saw a 100% increase in dividend payment from N5 to N10 per share for the 2025 financial year.
