With a few days left to the closure for submission of issues relating to the amended Annual Operating Levy (AOL) regulations and the amended Frequency Spectrum Regulations the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has extended the deadline to July 12, 2021.

The Commission, in exercise of its functions under the Nigerian Communications Act 2003 (the Act) published the draft regulatory instruments on its website for stakeholders’ contributory comments as it prepares to hold a public hearing on the subjects on July 20, 2021.

In a statement signed by the Director, Public Affairs, NCC, Dr Ikechukwu Adinde, the Commission stated: “In accordance with section 57 of the Act, Public Inquiries in respect of the above draft regulatory instruments have been scheduled to hold virtually at 11.00am.

Interested stakeholders are by this notice invited to make written submissions on the subject and participate in the Public Inquiries. Details of the virtual meeting will be forwarded to interested attendees prior to the Public Inquiries.”

The deadline for submission of the written views on the subjects was earlier fixed for July 5, 2021, but has been extended to July 12, 2021 to enable more submissions and give Nigerians ample opportunity to participate in the process.

According to the Commission, the submission, which must reach the Executive Vice Chairman’s office on or before July 12, will form part of the consideration by the NCC in setting the AOL and fine-tune the amended Frequency Spectrum regulation
