Telecom regulator, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has announced the availability of of Frequency Slots in the 600MHz Spectrum band for Administrative Assignment.
In a notice posted on its website, the Commission had invoked its regulatory powers as stated in the Nigeria Communication ACT NCA-2003, to place 4 slots of 35 MHz Band for bidding. The Band for sale ranges from 617 to 652, with three 10MHz Bands and one 5MHz Band on the table.
The NCC further implored interested parties to download an application form from the Commission’s website via the link – https://www.ncc.gov.ng/technical-regulation/spectrum/spectrum-application, and complete it in triplicate and submit to the Commission on or before the close of Business on April 28, 2023.
The notice, which was signed by the Director, Public Affairs of the Commission, Reuben Muoka, also noted that applications for the 10-year duration licence will only be processed after this deadline of April 28, 2023.
The 600 MHz is an LTE Band 71 comprising 84 MHz bandwidth of contiguous 600 MHz spectrum and is a specific configuration of the 617 to 698 MHz band, pegged to be the most efficient spectrum arrangement to cater for mobile broadband systems. 600 MHz will be available nationwide for LTE and 5G-compatible devices.
