TD Africa has reiterated its firm commitment to integrity, accountability, and the responsible use of company resources following the conviction of a former employee for theft.
Integrity of mind and systems remains one of TD Africa’s core values, guiding all operations and reinforcing the organisation’s zero-tolerance policy toward fraud, theft, or any form of misconduct.
In line with this commitment, TD Africa confirms that a former employee, Mr. Friday Udoh, was convicted last week by a Lagos State Magistrate Court for stealing company laptops from its warehouse facility. The conviction followed an internal investigation and subsequent report made to law enforcement authorities after CCTV footage showed the unauthorized removal of company assets.
The court ordered that Mr. Udoh pay ₦2,000,000 (Two Million Naira) to TD Africa or, in default, serve a six-month custodial sentence, in accordance with the judgment delivered.
TD Africa emphasizes that the matter was handled strictly in line with due process and in full cooperation with the Nigerian Police and judicial authorities.
Speaking on the development, Chris Eze-Ozims, Group Legal Adviser at TD Africa, stated: “TD Africa operates a strict governance framework anchored on integrity, accountability, and compliance with the law. In this matter, the company followed due process by conducting an internal review and cooperating fully with law enforcement authorities. This outcome reinforces our zero-tolerance stance on fraud and our responsibility to protect the interests of our partners, customers, and stakeholders. All employees are expected to uphold the highest ethical standards, comply with company policies, and act responsibly always, he said.
The company maintains that safeguarding assets entrusted to it by partners, OEMs, and customers is a critical responsibility that cannot be compromised.
